The Peconic Warpipes Bagpipe & Drums is located on Eastern Long Island in Suffolk County, New York. Our name is generally derived from the Peconic Bay watershed area of the "East End" of Long Island. The Warpipes referred to in our name honors the ancient Irish name for bagpipes, known as the Great Irish Warpipes or in Irish Gaelic, "píob mhór," which were the same or similar to the Scottish Great Highland Bagpipes played by most modern bagpipe bands today. We celebrate and honor the traditions of both Irish and Scottish bagpipes.
